Hey Di,
Okay two comments-
1) Love the new layout, it's really cha-cha...no i'm kidding/kind of lol
2) Absolutely loved the article on Latina beauty, some of the contributors spoke about things I could never really put into words-especially about the subtle accusation that Latina style is 'tacky'. It just reminded me of so many conversations I've had or overheard where I know there's something offensive being spoken, but I can't comment on it exactly because I can't verbalize what it is.
Anyway, I look forward to reading your stuff, welcome back!
Hey, glad you like my cha cha home. Ironically, I put ol' Frida up-- the article I posted talks about the 'hipness' of Frida, but I feel karmically tied to her so it's okay. I agree-- many of the things that the article mentions make me think about times when I've been told that something I've chosen to wear is "dramatic." But I say one culture's "drama" is another culture's everyday.
